I will be featured alongside University of North Texas colleagues from the College of Art and Design at the UNT on the Square gallery space. I choose to exhibit my installation Untitled (Small God 3) in the interest of seeing how the raw nature of this piece interacts with a conventional gallery space. In comparison to much of my other work, Untitled (Small God 3) has marked differences in its lack of polished finishes, untouched imperfections, and environmental features like the worn stool, which I borrowed from a fellow artist. In many ways I think this piece more than any other to date references my past as a figurative painter in its physicality and the clear presence of my hand in the materials used.
